New Ideas Section AddedSorry for no new scrap booking ideas being
posted this past week - I have been working on a brand new 'ideas' section for the
website...
I have added two new pages under this category, hope you like 'em!
This is the main page - scrapbooking
page idea and I am working at the moment on adding more themed idea pages (such as
baby, wedding, heritage etc) to this general idea page - hopefully they will be going live
in the next few weeks or so.
The other page I've added is specifically about scrapbook
magazines as these are a great source of fresh layout ideas and new techniques, with
easy to follow 'how-to-do-it' articles.
Money saving paper tips…
Here's a couple of common sense (when you think about it) tips for making your papers
last longer.
Buy your papers and cardstocks in the 12 x 12 size, even if you have a 8.5 x 11 sized
album. Once you have cut down the papers and cardstocks to fit you will have some nicely
co-ordinated strips left that you can use on your page for journaling on, making tags,
photo corners, die-cuts, paper piecing or for punching etc.
Another thrifty tidbit is to cut out the inside part of your mats - the bit covered by
your photo. Not only can you use this piece of card for any of the above techniques it
also helps make your album pages less 'bulky'.
Making extra scrapbook pages
I am sure there are lots of you who would like to do layouts for your friends and
family but just don't have the time to scrap all those extra pages?
Well, here's a neat scrapin' idea. Why not make some color copies of your scrapbook
pages and send those away to your relatives and friends. If you own a scanner, scan your
layouts, compile them onto a cd and mail. You can even send the images as attachments in
emails.
What a great way to keep in touch with a loved one living far away and letting them
share in your-day-to-day life and experience your memories.
